Need help trying to figure out what pattern to cover my kitchen chairs with!?

Im doing my kitchen in the lil chef guy and I want to recover my kitchen chairs. The lil chef guy towels and stuff got a lil black and white checkers pattern on them so should I cover my chairs in solid black Or the black and white checkers pattern?My chairs don't have upholstrey backs, there a darker brown wood. What stores sale the little chef guy salt and pepper
