Anybody have excruciating back pain or cramps during early pregnancy?

I've read a lot about mild cramping and lower back pain during pregnancy, but has anyone else had lying on the bathroom floor crying, screaming obscenities at the top of your lungs back pain? I'm probably only 4 wks along, no spotting or bleeding or anything. It comes & goes, I'm doing pretty good most of the time but every few hours it'll hit and I'm curled up
